Here is Jared Rourke's mock-up of the cover for the "Winter War" pitch that I'm writing and drawing.

I've had a lot of fun putting this together, and it's - for me - a real labor of love. I've always been interested in war stories, and the more obscure the better. Although in the case of this conflict between Finland and the USSR, is mostly unknown to people outside of those two countries. And I don't know why, as it's just the kind of story that they write books and make movies about: an underdog story with a small country with an army made up mostly of volunteers taking on this juggernaut that was the USSR during the late 1930s and early 1940s.

Jared's logo is pretty much dead-on perfect for this. I don't think this is the finished logo. I've asked if he can put a bit of a peeling paint look on the logo, to make it look more worn. We'll see how it turns out.

Ok,but what you want to say with these Soviet
hammer and sickle? Is this story about SSSR?
Also i got some notes to the logo.Leave only the
"WAR's" "R" to stay reflected, because otherwise it will be senseless.
You should look for better "W" because this is little wrong.
And you can move up the middle horizontal beam of the "A"

The story is about the war between Finland and the USSR in 1939-1940. So the designer put in the flags of both countries, with the Finnish flag in the 't' and 'e' of 'Winter'.

I have to agree with your assessment of only the first 'r' remaining reflected, as well as having a more consistent 'w' between the two words.
